My Biggest Disappointment

After waiting and waiting for many years now for Yuku to create a decent blog, I have sadly given in and have now copied all my posts over to Blogspot.

It is so sad that not only have we now less features on our blogs on Yuku than we did on the old style profiles, but the blogs on Yuku are no longer open to the web.  This not only restricts us in having our blog feed elsewhere on our other web pages, but doesn't even allow us to share posts on systems such as Twitter and Facebook.

I, along with 3 other friends, have now given in and moved our blogs here to Blogspot, where we can share links and feeds, have our friends blog updates on our own blog along with encouraging visitors from all over the web.

I never wanted to blog on any other system but Yuku.  Yuku is where all my friends are, but I see now that I have to use both Yuku and Blogspot and link them together as much as possible.

I will still copy my blog posts to Yuku and will still keep the comments section open for those that would prefer to comment on Yuku, but at the same time, all links from Yuku to my blog will come to my Blogspot where I will allow comments from non-logged in visitors to allow my Yuku friends to comment easily.

All blog posts on Yuku in future will have a comment link back to the Blogspot post which I hope all will use.

I am very sad that after waiting so long that Yuku have still kept their blogs so localised and with the minimum of features.  But hey ho, time to admit defeat and move onward and upward.

  3. Hi Edu. Thanks for coming over. I have made it as easy as possible for non-logged in members to post.

  4. I'm not so sure yuku has ever had their head into waiting or caring about blogs. Their blogs have always gotten the less attention. I feel like they only built what blogs they do have, just so they can say they have everything people would want under one roof.

Seems all they care about is message forums, and why I don't know! Because forums are coming to being a thing of the past. Oh sure, don't get me wrong, there will always be message forums, but they'll never draw the crowd as they once did.

  5. Yup, totally agree. Blogs have well over taken message boards for popularity now.

I have been doing a search on Yuku Forum Find for any posts on Blogspot/Blogger blogs. You simply wouldn't believe the amount of Yuku members that are blogging now. And that's only picking out Blogspot.

Bet if it did a search for Wordpress or Live Journal I would come up with equal amounts of people on each of those systems too.

Think of all of those blogging on Yuku instead, if Yuku had real blogs.

  6. Really!!????????
Makes one wonder why yuku can't wake up to what people wants! Only shows me they don't care. But could be me and the impression I get when I look at yuku.

  7. Well, Yuku is now Ceco. Seems he is in complete control.

He has only been in complete control for a few weeks so let's see if he maybe starts moving this along.

There is now a Features Suggestions forum on Support and he said that whatever is voted to the top will get done first.

He stuck to his word about that when the Sticky Lead Post reached the top. That was implemented within a couple of days.

Now let's see what happens to the rest. If he sticks to his word, the next feature should be the Comments with Graphics as that reached the top several days ago with 68 votes.

  9. Oh yell all you want. You know me. I get as much pleasure out of seeing other peoples sites grow as I do my own.
