Stupid Postman

The other day I had a letter put through my door. The only thing within the address that was correct was my door number and town.

This is what the address looked like

Mr Wrong Name
5C Wrong Flats
Wrong Road
Highcliffe
Wrong Post Code

So please tell me why my postman could possibly think, when he sorted it, that it should come to me.

I of course put it back in the nearest pillar box and I assume that eventually it found it's way to Mr Wrong Name.

The mind absolutely boggles sometimes at the incompetence of the British worker.

And while we are on the subject of postmen. This same postman and I had a bit of a barney a few months ago.

Sick and tired of the flyers that our postmen now deliver through our doors on a regular basis, I asked him to stop putting these through my door and only deliver that which actually has my address on.

He told me that by law I had to accept 3 pieces of rubbish through my door a week. The man is an idiot because there simply is no "law" for accepting anything through ones door that isn't addressed to one. Biggest load of rubbish I have ever in my life heard. The man is simple.

The long and the short of it is, that companies pay the post office to deliver this rubbish, and the postman is compelled to deliver them.

I should have reported him so that his superiors could put him straight, but I let it pass as he agreed to stop doing it. That is until recently.

I have now started getting 5 pieces of rubbish through my door a week. Everyone else in the block simply walks the flyers downstairs and puts them in the recycling container. I pick them up off the carpet and on the next dog walk I take them with me and put them back in the pillar box, for the same postman to empty on his way back to the depot.

Does anyone ever read one of these bits of advertising rubbish? No, of course they don't, they are instantly put in the bin by all and sundry.

I honestly believe that it should be against the law for companies to be allowed to advertise in this manner. It is a total and absolute waste of trees, it fills up recycling bins and most importantly of all, it pisses me off.

Why is it that the pubic are being continually pushed, and fined if they don't, to be green, saving and conserving, when companies get away with murder?
